Randle Davenport (1755) of Kermincham
Randle was born and raised in Lower Withington in 1755 and was married about 1781 to Mary. They raised 11 children between 1782 and 1803 - these were baptised at Swettenham and Randle was described as a resident of Kermincham. Sarah (1782), John (1784), Ralph (1786), Sarah (1788), Thomas (1791), Betty (1794), Randle (1795), Ann(1797), Lydia(1799), Ellen (1801), Hannah (1803). Randle was referred to in his father Peter Davenport's will of 1818.
John Davenport (1794) was born at Kermincham and married Elizabeth Moss at Swettenham in 1807. Their six children were baptised at Swettenham between 1808 and 1821 - John was described as a landowner of Kermincham. About 1822/3, John and Elizabeth relocated their family to Macclesfield as described in the burials at Swettenham of members of their family - children: William (1824), Helen (1827), Lacs (1839). John's wife Elizabeth died in 1830 at Macclesfield and was also buried at Swettenham. The two older sons Ralph (1810-83) and Randle (1811-79) married and raised families.
Ralph Davenport (1810-83) married Hannah (1813-76) about 1837. They raised five children at Macclesfield from 1838-55. In the 1851-71 census the family was living at St Paul's Macclesfield where Ralph was listed as a Tailor. In the 1851 census, after Hannah's death, Ralph was living at Brunswick Square, macclesfield with his married daughter Maria Hall. Ralph's only son John Thomas Davenport (1855 - 1926) married Sarah Ann Higginbotham in 1876 at Sutton, Macclesfield - John was a "Fancy Trimmer". They raised their family of three children at 11 6 Newton Street, Macclesfield - but by the 1901 census they had moved to Halleycombe, Sutton, Macclesfield, where Sarah Ann was described as a farmer - possibly Sarah Ann inherited a farm in 1891/1901.Their eldest son Lawrence Davenport (1879) married Lily Hatton at St Johns Macclesfield in 1905 - their eldest son Lawrence Davenport (1906) married Winifred Wood Hulley in 1931 at Sutton, Macclesfield.
Randle Davenport (1811-79) married Mary about 1844. They settled at Goostrey, where the census returns showed that Randle was a shoemaker. Their son Jabez died in 1854, but their daughter Elizabeth Davenport born at Goostrey was married in 1877 to Daniel Warburton. In the 1851 census, Mary Davenport and her married daughter Elizabeth's family were living at the Goostrey Post Office.
