James Davenport (1838 - ) and Ellen Slack (1840-1894) Farmer of Marton and of Salford (grandfather father James Davenport bn 1761)

James Davenport was born into a farming family at Marton in 1838 - in the 1871 census he owned a farm of 58 acres in Marton. James married Ellen Slack at Prestbury in 1861 and they raised five children, Hannah (1863 -) married Robert Blackman in 1880, Charles (1865- ) married Sarah Carr in 1890, Richard (1866-1926) married Elizabeth Powell in 1891, Arthur Henry (1868) and Joseph (1871). Ian Cameron is a descendant of Hannah and Robert Blackman

Hannah Davenport (1863- ) although born in Marton moved to Salford, Lancs around 1880, and raised five children.
